Twenty-five MYP5 and IB students have turned environmental commitment into concrete action this year.
Whilst managing the rigorous demands of the International Baccalaureate, they’ve built wildlife habitats with the World Wildlife Fund, organised lake clean-ups alongside Pro Natura, and coordinated recycling at major school events.
The initiatives keep building. They invited a local expert to teach the community about hedgehog conservation. At HautChella, they ran a homemade drinks stall to reduce single-use plastics. During International Day, they awarded the prize for Most Eco-Friendly Stall and ensured hundreds of participants could celebrate sustainably.
Their impact extends beyond campus too. Each year, the committee raises funds for environmental charities to show that student leadership can create change on multiple levels.
At Haut-Lac, we see this as leadership in its truest form: students identifying what matters, rolling up their sleeves, and inspiring others through example rather than just words.
