Over 30 Years' Excellence in Bilingual Education

Since 1993, Haut-Lac has enabled students to succeed academically and personally in English and French.

This long-standing commitment is reflected in the learning, student results and other qualities that define our school.

Students can choose between a truly bilingual English/French pathway or an English pathway with daily French as a foreign language lessons. Both models are designed to foster fluency and cultural understanding from early years through to graduation.

As a leading Swiss IB school, Haut-Lac enables students to pursue academic excellence and consistently achieve strong results in the International Baccalaureate Diploma.

In 2025, its average IBDP score stood well above the global average of 30.4 at 35.0.

Haut-Lac’s inclusive community brings together students from over 60 countries.

However, with nearly 30% of students being Swiss and over 60% living long-term in Switzerland, our global environment is rooted in local values.

Every learner receives appropriate support to succeed academically and personally thanks to small class sizes and an average 6:1 student-teacher ratio.

Students develop their skills, explore their passions and gain global exposure during 150 extra-curricular clubs, diverse competitive sports and international experiences.

The Haut-Lac boarding option provides up to 32 students with a personalised, family-style home and the modern facilities and resources of a leading Swiss IB school.

The Haut-Lac educational approach encompasses both academics and strong emotional and social support to foster a true sense of community and well-being.

Haut-Lac welcomes students from 3 to 18 years old on its school campuses, which overlook Lake Geneva in the village of St-Légier-La Chiésaz.

Our programmes ensure a continuous, high-quality education from Early Years (Preschool) through Primary School and Middle School to Secondary School. They culminate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) or IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP) or US High School Diploma.

We also have a bilingual French-English nursery in Vevey for toddlers aged 18 months to 4 years.

We offer a bilingual French-English pathway, as well as an English-only pathway.

However, all students benefit from daily exposure to both languages.

Our curriculum is based on the International Baccalaureate framework (IBMYP, IBDP, IBCP), which fosters global-mindedness and academic excellence whilst supporting multilingual development.

We also run a Swiss Option for local students aged 11-14, who want to study at a Swiss state high school. It is an extension of the IBMYP, which enables them to develop their English language skills, life skills and academic knowledge alongside added exam preparation in French literature, maths and German ahead of state school entrance exams.

First contact our admissions team at [email protected].

We will then get in touch to arrange a school visit or virtual meeting to discuss your child’s needs and answer any questions.

After this initial conversation, you will need to complete the online application form and upload your child’s last two school reports.

We will also ask for a School Reference Form for students aged 8 and over later in the process.
