Secondary

Aboutour SECONDARY section

Our Secondary section is split over two campuses. Our 11-12 year olds study on the top floor of Praz-Dagoud campus and our 13-18 year olds on our Roches Grises campus. However, all year groups come together on one or other campus for assemblies, bake sales, and other section-wide events during the year.
As an IB World School, our flagship programmes are the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for 11-15 year olds as well as the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and the IB Career-Related Programme for 16-18 year olds. We chose the International Baccalaureate (IB) because, just like our own teaching and learning philosophy, it encourages students to make practical links between their study material and the real world.
About

Aboutthe Ib MYP Programme

The IB MYP programme is student-centred and caters for all abilities, learning styles, cultural backgrounds and academic histories. It focuses on both personal and academic development and provides students with an internationally recognised qualification, as well as a solid foundation with which to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

AboutThe IB DP Programme

The IB Diploma Programme is a well-established, multilingual course that serves learners extremely well for the future. Students are guided through an intense and rigorous study programme, which encourages them to step outside their comfort zone and achieve, as well as grow in ways that will be of great benefit during their university studies.

We realise, however, that an IB course of study may not be for everyone and thus also give our students the option of working towards the admission exams to enter the Cantonal Gymnasium, or the US High School Diploma (USHD).

The USHD is aimed at students aged 16-18, who plan to continue their studies in the US or Canada. It is run in parallel to the IBDP programme and can culminate in a double certification, with students obtaining both the IB and the US High School Diplomas.

AboutOUR WAoS ACCREDITATION

Whilst we understand the importance of achieving academically, we also encourage our students to use and develop their other talents, whether these be in the world of art, music or sports. As an Athlete-Friendly School accredited by the WAoS, we are able to offer flexible programmes to student-athletes to help them pursue their education along with their intensive training programmes.
