From this September, Haut-Lac is launching the Sports Performance Pathway: a structured sports performance programme giving committed students access to expert coaching in strength, mindset and nutrition within the school day.
The idea came from the students themselves. Many already train seriously outside school hours and want to push further, but there was no structured way to support that ambition within the school day. The Pathway fills that gap. It’s open to any committed student from P4 through to IB2, whatever their current level or sport. Sessions run alongside the full academic timetable at our Saint-Légier campus, above Vevey.
Two tiers are available. Foundation costs CHF1,600 per year. It covers one strength and conditioning session per week, individual and group mental performance coaching, nutrition workshops and a termly performance dossier. Momentum costs CHF2,000 per year. It adds a second weekly training session, an extra nutrition workshop and a Parent Education Series with evidence-based guidance on supporting a young athlete at home. Students can switch tiers during the year, subject to availability. Fees adjust pro-rata from the start of the next term.
Every strand is delivered by specialists: qualified physiotherapists, registered dieticians, and former or current Olympians and professional athletes. Groups are kept to six or eight students per session, so coaching stays personal and each student starts at the right level.
The Pathway sits alongside the existing Student-Athlete Programme. That programme continues exactly as before for students competing at cantonal, national or international level. The two are separate. Joining the Pathway doesn’t make a student a recognised athlete, and there’s no expectation that student-athletes sign up. The hope is simply that some of today’s Pathway students will be tomorrow’s.
The first intake is capped at 30 places. The Pathway launches in mid-September, and the Autumn sign-up window closes in mid-October, after which a waiting list will open. Register your interest here, or contact Pathway Coordinator Reece Eagle with any questions.
