From humble beginnings…

Over 20 years ago, we were just two families with a dream. We wanted to create a learning space where children from all over the world could live and thrive in two languages.

Today, our dream is a reality. 600 students from over 40 countries play, learn, and grow together at Haut-Lac, a Swiss bilingual school. We are humbled by the trust put in us by their parents and honoured to be a part of their journey. We hope that you will enjoy discovering for yourself what makes our school so special.

A quick overview

…of us, our school, and our programme

Our mission

To deliver a creative and well balanced curriculum in a stimulating bilingual environment.

To provide a nurturing environment and community that encourages our students to achieve in both their academic and personal lives.

In conjunction with parents, we aim to develop kind, independent, determined, and globally-minded students.

Our method

We adapt our approach to the developmental stages of the children and adolescents in our care.

We encourage and strengthen our student's intellectual curiosity, analytical reflection, and the ability to communicate ideas in more than one language.

We take into account the diverse cultural backgrounds of over 650 children aged 18 months to 18 years, and customise our approach and methods to be age and student-appropriate.

Our students

On campus, Haut-Lac is a family – we care for your children as if they were our own, and encourage them to build lifelong connections and bonds with each other.

We educate both international and Swiss students to create a truly bilingual experience for our children.

We focus on holistic education - ensuring children have the opportunity to develop themselves personally alongside academic development.

Our services

We provide Haut-Lac activity camps during the Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays to help students make the most out of their holidays.

Our bus service, which covers eight different routes, is a handy way for families to get their children to and from school every day.

We offer a number of extracurricular activities for our students. From drama to skiing, there's a club for all interests.

"Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire."
